Placental alkaline phosphatase is a throphoblast-derived antigen from human placenta. It is a membrane-associated antigen present in high frequency in gynacological cancers and in lower frequency in other tumors. This antibody can be used as an epitope-defined marker in germ cell tumors and is applicable for immunosorbent purification, identification of hidden determinants on the native enzyme and for radioimmuno-localization.
