Normal Rabbit Serum is useful as a blocking reagent in many protocols where the secondary antibody was produced in rabbits. It is effective in reducing nonspecific binding of proteins to reaction surfaces, allowing the maximum signal-to-noise ratio. For example, normal rabbit serum may be used to treat plastic surfaces, membrenes or tissues after they have been incubated with primary antibody or antigen.
