Lipoprotein lipase Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is an important plasma enzyme responsible for the breakdown of triglycerides. LPL deficiency, also known as chylomicronemia or Type Ia hyperlipoproteinemia, results in elevated levels of chylomicrons and is related to a number of conditions including obesity, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and atherosclerosis. 

We offer two kits to study this important enzyme:

• Our Lipoprotein Lipase ELISA Kit detects LPL levels in a standard colorimetric format.

• Our Lipoprotein Lipase Activity Assay Kit quantitatively measures LPL activity in a fluorescence plate reader; it can also be used to detect endothelial and hepatic lipase activity.
